Sometime, When I go to the shit performance, I will start to wonder if is really the performance shit or maybe is the audience shit ?Who have known the the life better? Is the natural world ? or Is the designer(artist) who think about life too much? or is

the audience who are having boring and busy life everyday? Who have known performance better ? Most avant-garde? Most New? New, This word is often used in the design world, the designers will pursuade audience, they will said if the audience can buy their product, the audience will be brought into a amazing New life and New fututre,however, most of time the audiences won't be able to understand the manual of the product and end up with leaving the New product aside and continue carring on a Old style life. 

  Design is the education of desire. What’s those creator’s vision of the dream world? If their creations will bring a good effect to the reality or its just a nightmare. The empty house project is the collaborative theatrical project which attempts to question human presence and its artificial living space. It is investigating how the aesthetics of personal space influence the politics of groups.

 

Basically we are a group of artists from all over the world, we are here  to create the objects(their personal nests) related to the rural locations in Taiwan, the creation is costumes, props or even the action rules(dancing) etc. The story and theatrical space will be gradually generated after ever artist's personal creations.

 

 

 

we are building "a countryside house" together,

Unlike urban dwelling which is always a temporal living space, the " countryside house" shows everything of people’s whole life effort. 

 When you move into an empty house what will you bring to this place to make it more close to your ideal living space?

So then to  make our personal nests (works), this is the first step of the workshop.

 

I said building a house, sounds very tricky for a physical performers because they don't actually make a object, but what I mean is like to create a space you can inhabit in(like a nest). They said dancers need to shape their body first and it then will help their soul can dance more freely, probably this is the "house" you will build or probably somethings else.  What's a  actor's nest ? Or what's the director's nest ? Or designer's nest ? etc.....

 

But "this countryside house" is not inhabited by sinlge person but a group of creators inculding designers, dancers etc.

So the second step of our creation is to try to put different pieces of our creations together and to see how the aesthetics of personal space will influence group living. It will finally be developed into a formal theatrical production. Using theatrical production as a mean to rethink about the definition of creation
